A red Hibiscus flower for a Birthday!

Hi folks,

Today I want to share a birthday card with you that I made for a friend of mine. My friend has a garden, that is always full of beautiful flowers. So, I decided to make her a card with a red Hibiscus flower.

I stamped the flower twice and colored the images with my copics. For extra dimension I cut out the flower portion of the second image and layered the on top of each other.

I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple and elegant, so I just gold embossed the greeting and the edges of the notecard and put it on a white card base.

As a final touch I put some Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen on the red part of the flower.

Cards made with easy backgrounds

As you might know by now I follow Jennifer McGuire on social media, who often inspires my cards.  For this card series, she also inspired me. I used her technique to make easy backgrounds using almost all of the sentiment stamps I own and the Misti.

I used a similar color for stamping on the paper so the backgrounds would not e too overwhelming.

For me as a social media manager the background looks very appealing because it reminds me of a tag cloud.

After the backgrounds were finished I added a simple focal point with flowers and cute critters and a focal sentiment in black and white.

Cuteness & Coffee: Valentine’s Day Cards

Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great day! Seeing that today is Valentine’s Day I want to share some Valentine’s Day Cards with you.

This year’s theme was coffee & tea, because it combines two important things: Love & Coffee.

For the cards I used Simon Says Stamp’s last year’s card kit “Coffee Tea and Cocoa”. The images of the stamp set are adorable and of course go very well with the patterned paper it came with.

Especially the small patterned paper lend itself very well to my idea to use it for the stamped images.

After I found a layout I liked I stuck to it and made two cards with the paper coffee cup and one with the cup & saucer image.

How I made 150 cards in 3 months!

Last year I made 150 cards for Christmas. Yes, 150!

Before we get into the madness that is making 150 cards let me start with this: I am very lucky! For the fourth time my boss at Clip Mediaservice, the company I work for asked me to make Christmas cards for our clients. That’s awesome! However, this time he asked me to make 150 (!) cards. Still awesome, but…

…it is quite a bit of work.

So where did I start? First, I showed my boss some ideas and we agreed on the design you see below.

Cute, right? And looks simple enough: A moose in front of a blue background, snowbanks, some trees, our logo and the sentiment.

Well, try doing that 150 times. I started on September 1st and just finished in time so we could send them out beginning of December.

Oh, and did I mention that they are all hand written and hand-addressed? (I didn’t do that part though).

Anyways, I still had a lot of fun making them and I am looking forward to the next 150 or more Christmas cards!

Snowy, icy Winter Cards

Hi lovely people,

I want to share some snowy and icy winter moments with you. In Austria it wasn’t very cold, so I will try to capture the essence of winter with some snowy, icy Winter Cards.

I made these cards last year in the hope of a white Christmas but my offerings to Mister Frost were utterly ignored.

So here are 4 Winter Cards I made with a snowflake die from Memory Box.

I used the die cuts as a stencil in the last card and used a die cutting inlay technique for the other three cards.

Valentine’s Day Love Bird

Last week was Valentine’s Day.

Well… I have to admit that I do not think that an appointed day for raising sales for flowers and chocolates is specifically romantic. However, I also think that we should seize any chance to show some love. Especially in times like these.

That is why I want to share a Valentine’s Day card with you today.

This technique is inspired by the famous Jennifer McGuire.

It is a one-layer card; the bird is masked to allow the text in the background. The even spacing between the sentiments was achieved using a mini misti, a stamp positioner.

I used this technique before without the misti. The results aren’t too shabby either. Here are some of the examples:

Christmas Card Deer red

Using the misti is however a lot easier.

Nautical summer

Hi everyone! Summer is not over yet – anyways not for the next four days. So I decided to share with you some of my nautical summer cards.

Nautical or maritime is my all-time favourite theme! My whole wardrobe consists of white and blue stripes, anchors and navy blue.

That’s why I am always happy to make some nautical cards. And summer is just perfect for that.

In my opinion there is an easy way to achieve a nautical theme: The card just needs to contain one or a combination of the following: stripes, navy blue & white, anchor motive, some red and a gold accent.

Let’s celebrate the last couple days of summer with some sun and maritime feelings.

Ice-cream – let the summer begin!

Hi, today I want to share with you 3 cards that I made craving sun and ice-cream. The weather isn’t all too great – it’s cold and rainy – so I decided to bring summer to my craft room with these summer-cards.

I made 3 really colourful cards with yummy and glittery ice-cream.

For the cards I used an adorable stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Ice Cream Dream.

Here I made a rainbow-circle with ice-cream cones because I couldn’t resist using as many colours as possible.
